I've always loved furres and furries! Anthropomorphic --part human, part animal-- humanoids have been popular since ancient times. In ancient Egypt, many of the gods and goddesses were human with animal heads. For example, Horus, the son of Osiris and Isis, had a falcon's head, while the evil Set usually had that of a hippo. In ancient Greece, the Minotaur stalked through the maze at Minos. And the Native Americans had many animal spirits.
What Furres are: A combination --in one form or another-- human and animal.
What Furres are not: People dressing up as animals to have sex with animals, or other people dressing up as animals.
Some of my favorite furres:
- Biker Mice from Mars: Just as the name says. Biker Mice from Mars.
- Sphinx, from Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy. Many anthromorphs in this game...
- Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles; Mutated turtles learn how to be a ninja from an equally anthromorphic rat named Splinter.
- Looney Tunes (i.e., Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, etc. This includes the new show, Loonitics Unleashed.)
- Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, etc.
- Mew-Mew Power, An anime with Magical Girls that gain cat-like qualities.
- InuYasha (Yes, I do count InuYasha as a furre...), Shippo, Kourga, etc.
- Neopets; They could be concidered furres
- The Bugaloos (a live-action show that came out in 1970's. They were "bugs", played by humans. They reminded me of fairies...)
- Mr. Tawky Tawny, from Shazam! He was a tiger that had learned to talk, walk, and dress like a human. In the cartoon, he was working at the Fawcett City Musuem.
Furres are fun, cool characters. Get to know some today! :D
